This photograph, shot from a vantage point in Hillbrow looking south east over the city, takes in the apartment buildings to the west of the iconic Ponte City tower in the east.
Krige is fascinated by the modernist architecture of the city and by the ways in which it is constantly being transformed through dynamic social change, including immigration, urban decay and renewal, crime and rejuvenation. The photograph also demonstrates the immense beauty of the city by night.
